The itinerery
DAY 1
Arrival in Suretka and overnight stay in a typical indigenous home—a simple, basic, and very clean wooden accommodation.
DAY 2
Embark on a boat ride along the Telire River, the main waterway that crosses Bribri territory, formed by the confluence of several smaller rivers. This scenic journey spans approximately 3-4 km, offering stunning views of the hills and mountainous landscapes that host numerous species of tropical birds.
During the trip, we make several stops to appreciate the pristine nature around us and learn about ancestral traditions. We pause at Yorking Falls for a convivial moment and enjoy a fruit snack, then visit Morro, a small natural temple nestled by the river.
DAY 3
Wake up to breakfast provided by our host and depart from Suretka.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Suretka is a small village located 16 km from Bribri and 30 km from Puerto Viejo de Talamanca.
- Accommodation: Typical Bribri home, basic and clean, with an outdoor bathroom.
- Free parking is available on-site. If arriving by public transport, travel to the Bribri terminal station and take a chicken bus to Suretka (choose the one heading towards Bambù).
- Transport services from Suretka to other locations can be arranged upon request through our guide.

What to bring?
We recommend dressing appropriately in comfortable clothes and hiking shoes. Please bring a jacket, insect repellent, sunscreen, waterproof jacket, sunglasses, sun hat, and any other items you deem necessary for your comfort and enjoyment.
