    MY FAVOURITE DESIGNS

    Balmaceda
    and Handcaves

    CHILE AND ARGENTINA

I truly loved designing this trip — it was a real adventure! A rare border crossing between Chile and Argentina led the travellers to one of the most remote and fascinating places I’ve ever included in an itinerary: the ancient Hand Caves, hidden deep in Patagonia’s wild landscapes.

    Atacama and
    Salar de Uyuni

    CHILE AND BOLIVIA

I love approaching Latin America by regions rather than countries, and this itinerary is among my favorites — a breathtaking journey into one of the world’s driest, most untamed, and awe-inspiring landscapes, where every step feels like crossing into another realm.

    Pantanal and Amazon extravaganza

    BRAZIL

Not for the faint‑hearted, this journey invites you to step deep into the untouched jungle. A daring blend of adventure and wonder, I love this itinerary because it immerses the traveler in the raw heart of the Amazon and Pantanal — a place where nature reveals itself in its most powerful and unforgettable form.

    Rural Ecuador and Galapagos

    ECUADOR

A rare quest is to truly understand another people’s culture and spirit. To achieve this, one must step off the beaten path. I loved designing this trip because it challenged me to follow what is in my heart: to present a country in its most unpolished form and reveal the true nature of Ecuador, without sacrificing the highest level of comfort.

    A TRAVEL DESIGNER'S DIARY

Studying Portuguese in Salvador, Bahia, the Historical Capital of Brazil
Challenges and Opportunities in Sustainable Tourism in Nicaragua
Why Sustainable Tourism is Essential in Our Price-Based Economy
Unplug: The Future of Traveling as a Digital Detox

Join me on a journey of language and culture in Salvador, Bahia. This city of vibrant colors and rich history provides an immersive backdrop for learning Portuguese. My month-long study experience here has been enriched by the lively streets, welcoming locals, and unique cultural blend. Beyond the classroom, Salvador’s historic districts and beautiful beaches offer countless opportunities for real-world practice and exploration. Coupled with a sustainable development project on the nearby island of Tinharé, this stay has been both educational and deeply rewarding.

While we face several challenges in promoting sustainable tourism in Nicaragua, the opportunities are equally compelling. By addressing infrastructure limitations, investing in awareness, and fostering community-based tourism, we can pave the way for a sustainable tourism model that protects our natural and cultural heritage. The future of sustainable tourism in Nicaragua lies in the careful balance of development and conservation, ensuring that the country remains a beautiful and vibrant destination for generations to come. As a travel designer, I am excited to be part of this journey and to help shape a sustainable future for tourism in Nicaragua.

Community-based tourism is crucial in our price-based economy as it assigns monetary value to nature, culture, and personal interactions, ensuring their protection and appreciation. This form of tourism empowers local communities, supports wildlife conservation, preserves cultural heritage, enhances environmental awareness, and encourages sustainable practices. Real-world examples, such as the Bribri in Costa Rica and villages around Panama city, demonstrate its positive impact. By choosing community-based tourism, travelers help create a sustainable and equitable world that values and protects the intrinsic worth of life and nature.

Traveling with Travel Local Club offers a perfect digital detox, allowing you to disconnect from constant digital noise and reconnect with nature, culture, and loved ones. By immersing yourself in new environments, practicing mindfulness, and engaging in physical activities, you naturally reduce your reliance on digital devices. Many of our destinations feature limited connectivity, encouraging deeper engagement with your surroundings. Travel also provides the space for self-reflection and mental clarity, helping you reconnect with yourself. Embrace the benefits of a digital detox with Travel Local Club and rediscover the joy of being present in the moment.

    WHY CHOOSE ME

    ABOUT CHIARA

I’m an Italian who, many years ago, sold her soul to Latin America. What started as a study abroad experience became a lifelong love story with this continent — its people, its colors, its rhythm.

I first moved to Santiago de Chile to study at the University of Chile and later completed a Master’s in Environmental Economics at Uppsala University in Sweden. My background led me to work briefly with the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). But sitting behind a desk, analyzing data, I realized something: I didn’t want to study life — I wanted to live it.

So I made a bold choice. I left what could have been a secure, prestigious career to follow a different path — one that allowed me to stay close to the land, the people, and the stories that make Latin America so special. I chose tourism, but not the kind that rushes through places. The kind that respects, connects, and gives back — sustainable and responsible travel.

Ten years later, I have no regrets. I’ve crossed deserts and jungles, mountains and islands, from Patagonia to the Caribbean, always meeting wonderful people who share the same love and respect for their home. Together, we design journeys that bring travelers closer to the soul of each destination — experiences that change how we see the world.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT MY WORK

We took part of a group trip to Patagonia with Chiara as our tour leader. Patagonia is simply amazing and the trip was well organized in every detail and enriched by an extraordinary group of fellow travelers. Every day offered new emotions: breathtaking landscapes, exciting excursions, and special moments shared with wonderful people who quickly became friends. Chiara’s professionalism, kindness, and deep knowledge of the region made all the difference. She managed to create an atmosphere that was both relaxed and full of enthusiasm, allowing us to enjoy every moment without any stress. Everything flowed smoothly, and we always felt supported and well taken care of. We came home full of beautiful memories, and the joy of having lived such a unique experience together. A heartfelt thank you to Chiara and to the entire group — it truly was a journey to remember! — Primo & Lucia

This was an unforgettable father–son trip to Nicaragua. Because of flight difficulties, we started our journey from Costa Rica, and in the end, it turned out to be the simplest way to begin our adventure. I was a bit concerned at first, as my son is only 12 years old and traveling in Central America can be a bit tricky, but the itinerary was beautifully planned. Every place had its own charm, and the mix of culture, landscapes, and local encounters made the trip truly special. A big thank you to Chiara, who organized everything with great care. She was always available, patient, and made sure every detail worked smoothly for both me and my teenage boy. Her knowledge and passion for Latin America really shone through in the way the trip was designed.

We recently took a trip to Argentina and Chile, focusing mainly on Patagonia, and we can’t help but share how truly satisfied we were with the support provided by Chiara, who guided us through the entire planning process. From the very beginning, Chiara proved to be extremely attentive to our needs, carefully listening to our requests before suggesting an itinerary. She presented a well-structured program that was later adapted and personalized to our preferences, making the journey absolutely perfect for us. The local guides and organized tours were highly professional. The small group sizes allowed us to enjoy a more intimate and tailored experience, with great attention to detail and deep knowledge of the places we visited. We especially appreciated the direct interaction with locals and guides, which made us feel more connected to the culture and the beauty of these incredible destinations. Another highlight was Chiara’s availability and responsiveness throughout the entire trip. For any question or clarification, she was always quick and ready to assist, making us feel supported at all times. We are extremely happy with our experience and highly recommend her to anyone looking to enjoy a unique, stress-free adventure with a truly personalized touch.

I was struggling to book travel to Chile when I came across Chiara on a web search. I was reluctant to book with a company unknown to me, but after meeting face to face via WhatsApp with Chiara, my husband and I felt comfortable booking with her. She made excellent recommendations and saved us from spending time in undesirable locations. Chiara was exceptionally responsive and got back to me in a very timely manner as we worked to put an itinerary together. The 3 weeks went without a hitch. Incredibly all the tour guides and transfers arrived exactly as planned. The tours were all with English speaking guides and excellent.

Our 9-day tour began with the Casablanca and Colchagua Valleys for boutique wine tours, sampling organic, award-winning wines. We returned to Santiago for a culinary journey through bustling markets, gastronomic districts, and had a private cooking class hosted by a renowned chef. Then it was on to Easter Island. The iconic moai statues and the island’s natural beauty were amazing. We worked with our tour coordinator, Chiara, who developed and planned the itinerary based on our requirements. The trip was exceptional with great coordination and communication with all drivers and guides. We had one small issue when checking in to our flight to Easter Island; Chiara was extremely responsive and helped resolve the issue to ensure that our adventure continued as seamless as possible.

I am your person if you think that travel is not about ticking places off a list. It’s about transformation — yours, mine, and the planet’s.
