Kaboom! Who knows when but a loooong time ago, the Volcano Mombacho erupted and then collapsed on the nearby Nicaragua Lake, creating a small archipelago of 365 tiny islands, one for each day of the year. Today some of these islands are inhabited by the great families of Nicaragua, some others by monkeys and some are just there to welcome us for a visit or a rest. Join us on this boat trip!

The itinerary

We meet in Managua city center in the afternoon and from here we reach the port for a boat ride on the Cocibolca lake along some of the 365 islands (isletas) in front of Granada. They are small islands, some inhabited, others deserted, often covered by vegetation and populated by various species of birds and monkeys. Freshwater sharks are the peculiarity of this lake.

We visit an island where the Spaniards had built a small fort to repel the English navy and pirates.

So we land on another island where we can enjoy the last rays of the sun on the lake and drink something (on your own) before returning to the port and from there to Managua.

NOTE: Option to stay in Granada after the tour
