About this Journey
This itinerary was created at the request of a guest who wanted to experience the untamed wilds of Brazil. Due to flight constraints, I included stopovers in Brazil’s major cities—and the result was a journey full of striking contrasts. I curated city tours focused on the architectural highlights to emphasize the differences between urban life and the natural wilderness. I must admit, the client ultimately did not accept this trip, likely due to the unexpectedly high cost of the North Pantanal segment, but it remains one of the most unique and personally rewarding itineraries I have ever designed.
Why do I love it?
- Contrast of Experiences – It perfectly balances the energy of Brazil’s major cities with the serene, untamed wilderness
- Immersive Nature – Guests can choose between a lodge experience in the Amazon or a unique survival tour, offering an authentic, off-the-beaten-path encounter with wildlife.
- Low-Impact Adventures – From guided hikes to wildlife spotting, every activity is crafted to connect travelers with nature responsibly.
The itinerery
Arrival at the airport of São Paulo and transfer to the hotel
This tour is designed to provide a complete and personalized introduction to São Paulo. Throughout the day, we will explore iconic neighborhoods and historical landmarks, with carefully chosen stops that capture the city’s authentic atmosphere.
The itinerary can be tailored to the guests’ interests, whether focused on art, gastronomy, history, or urban culture.
Your adventure begins as you land in Cuiabà.
At the airport you meet the driver to start your journey thowards Puerto Jofre
The Jaguar safaris take you to Porto Jofre and the remote Taiamã Reserve, where we search for jaguars along the rivers of the Pantanal. This region, often referred to as the ‘Jaguar Zone’, is the epicenter of jaguar activity and the best place in the world to observe and photograph these big cats in the wild.
Since 2012, all the guests have successfully observed and photographed jaguars at close range, often for extended periods.
Of course, jaguars are just one part of the Pantanal’s rich biodiversity. You will also have excellent chances to watch and photograph Giant Otters, Tapirs, Pumas, Giant Anteaters, Ocelots, Anacondas, and an abundance of birdlife. Hyacinth Macaws, Toucans, and a wide variety of parrots are frequently spotted during both boat and overland safaris at traditional Pantanal ranches.
