People of Nicaragua love their sunsets. Everywhere you go, in any of the tours, our locals will always tell you which are the best spots to see the sundown. The best sunset of them all is for sure the one on the summit of Volcano Telica. Probably this is because of the smoke that comes out of the crater or the chain of Volcanoes in front of you, but our guess it is because of Javier, the man that every day climbs up to the top with an ice cooler to sell cold beers to hikers. The itinerary
Departure at 2:00 pm from your hotel, we head to Telica Volcano crossing the agricultural communities of the area.
Then we walk for about an hour going up towards the mouth of the crater. We can hear the roar of the lava river and see the whole area illuminated by its light. If there is no wind we go to the edge of the crater and take a look at the lava that shines deep, 120 meters below.
We settle in a panoramic place that gives us an extraordinary view.
Enjoy this incredible spectacle of the sun that disappears on the horizon, celebrating this experience with a cold beer or a soft drink!
Finally, we return to the vehicle with the torches and from here we continue to Leon where we will arrive around 19:00.
