Day 1: Arrival in Pucon

Upon your arrival at Temuco Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to the picturesque town of Pucon. Nestled in the heart of the Chilean Lake District, Pucon is known for its stunning natural beauty and adventure opportunities. Spend the rest of the day settling into your accommodations and exploring the charming town at your leisure.

Day 2: Ascent to Villarrica Volcano

Today, embark on an exciting ascent of the Villarrica Volcano, standing at an impressive 2,847 meters. Depending on seismological conditions, you may be able to reach the 2,350-meter mark. If access to the crater opens in July, you will have the chance to summit and enjoy an exhilarating ski descent. Your descent will be via the north face or, depending on the weather and your experience level, through the Voipir West sector. This adventure promises breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences on one of Chile’s most iconic volcanoes.

Day 3: Ascent to Volcán Lanín

Prepare for a challenging and rewarding climb as you ascend Volcán Lanín, the highest peak in Araucanía at 3,776 meters. The ascent will take you to a feasible stretch, with a full day of ski mountaineering that includes an elevation gain of 2,000 meters. Alternatively, if conditions and preferences dictate, you may choose to ascend the Quetrupillan Volcano, standing at 2,350 meters. This route offers a summit arrival and a forest crossing in the initial section, with an elevation gain of 1,200 meters. The choice of volcano will be based on interest and weather conditions, ensuring a personalized and safe adventure.

Day 4: Mapuche Experience and Transfer to Ski Lodge

Today is dedicated to immersing yourself in the rich culture of the Mapuche people. Begin by visiting the eastern town of Curarrehue, where you will explore the traditional rescue warehouse of the local cooperative “Zomo Ngen.” Here, you will learn about their community projects and local products. Next, visit the Mapuche Cultural Center “Trawupeyüm,” a small museum where you will gain insights into the history, tales, and daily life artifacts of the Mapuche people. Engage with a local wool weaver, participate in making unique fabrics, and enjoy local gastronomy prepared with traditional southern rhythms. Conclude the day with a visit to the stunning El León waterfall, located in a wildlife-rich forest area of Palguín. This cultural immersion will leave you with a deep appreciation for the Mapuche heritage and their connection to the land.

Day 5-6: Stay at Ski Resort

For the next two days, enjoy a relaxing stay at a premier ski resort. Your stay includes three nights of comfortable accommodations, unlimited access to the ski lifts, and four delicious meals a day (breakfast, lunch, tea, and dinner). Take full advantage of the resort’s amenities and the pristine slopes, making the most of your skiing experience in the heart of Araucanía.
