Being on a boat that’s moving through the water, it’s so clear. Everything falls into place in terms of what’s important and what’s not. In this tour we bring you on the Telire river, sailing with the flow from the heart of the Bribri region to discover the nature and the history of a folk that is truly connected with its environment. Leave your worries behind you and sail with us, for you is the unknown, for us is a piece of our soul.
The itinerery
DAY 1
Arrival at Suretka and overnight in a typical indigenous home (a simple, basic and very clean wooden home).
DAY 2
We take a boat ride on the Telire river, the main watercourse that crosses the territory of Bribri, the result of the fluence of several minor rivers.
This boat journey of about 3-4 km allows us to enjoy a wonderful view of the hills and mountainous reliefs of this area, habitat of many species of tropical birds.
Along the way we make a few stops to appreciate the virgin nature around us or to get to know the tradition of ancestors. So we stop at the Yorking Falls where we spend a convivial moment and have a fruit snack, then we visit the Morro, a small natural Temple surrounded by the river .
DAY 3
The next morning we greet the new day with breakfast offered to us by our host. Leave Suretka.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Suretka, which is a small village 16 km from Bribri and 30 from Puerto Viejo de Talamanca.
- We meet at the Clinic (meeting place of the local population, near the football field).
- The accomodation is a typical Bribri home, basic and clean, with an outside bathroom
- There is free parking available here.
- If you arrive by public transport, you need to reach Bribri terminal station and took a chicken bus to Suretka (there are two, you have to choose the one direction Bambù).
- If you need the transport service from Suretka to another location, our guide can book you this extra service.

What to bring?
We suggest you dress appropriately with comfortable clothes and hiking shoes. We suggest you bring a jacket, bugs repellent, sunscreen, waterproof jacket, sunglasses, sun hat and whatever you consider necessary.
