DAY 1 

Arrival at Suretka and overnight in a typical indigenous wooden home (a simple, basic and very clean wooden home).

DAY 2

We begin our experience in Suretka  and from here we walk for about 3 km in the heart of the Bribri territory – one of the pre-Columbian ethnic groups that have preserved their rich culture and their traditions – crossing the unspoiled nature in the Canton of Talamanca , Province of Limon.

Accompanied by our host, belonging to the Tsiníkichawak Clan, we get to know the culture and way of life of this indigenous population that has preserved a special relationship with nature and divinity.

Our walk is carried out in different stages and has the aim of introducing us to Mother Earth and its inhabitants. Our guide shows us the animal species that populate the area (reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds, insects) and shows us the shrubs and plants whose material is used for the production of bags, hats, hammocks, as well as the different types of medicinal plants, their function and use.

An important part of the meeting with the Bribri is dedicated to the spirituality and the relationship with the divinity that this population maintains first of all through their shamans.

At night, after having eaten dinner, we spend some time speaking and telling stories on the porch.

DAY 3

The next morning we greet the new day with breakfast offered to us by our host.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Suretka, which is a small village 16 km from Bribri and 30 from Puerto Viejo de Talamanca.
• We meet at the Clinic (meeting place of the local population, near the football field).
• The accomodation is a typical Bribri home, basic and clean, with an outside bathroom
• There is free parking available here.
• If you arrive by public transport, you need to reach Bribri terminal station and took a chicken bus to Suretka (there are two, you have to choose the one direction Bambù).
