The itinerery

DAY 1

Arrival in Suretka and overnight stay in a typical indigenous wooden home—a simple, basic, and very clean accommodation.

DAY 2

We commence our journey in Suretka, embarking on a 3 km walk into the heart of Bribri territory—a pre-Columbian ethnic group renowned for preserving their rich culture and traditions. We traverse pristine nature in the Canton of Talamanca, Province of Limon, accompanied by our host from the Tsiníkichawak Clan. Here, we immerse ourselves in the culture and way of life of this indigenous population, who maintain a profound connection with nature and divinity.

The walk unfolds in stages, allowing us to acquaint ourselves with Mother Earth and its inhabitants. Our knowledgeable guide introduces us to the area’s diverse animal species (reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds, insects) and educates us about shrubs and plants used in crafting items such as bags, hats, and hammocks. We also learn about various medicinal plants—their functions and uses.

Lunch included.

A significant part of our encounter with the Bribri community focuses on spirituality and their relationship with divinity, particularly through their shamans. In the evening, after enjoying dinner, we gather on the porch for storytelling and discussions.

DAY 3

We greet the new day with breakfast provided by our hospitable host.
