The itinerary
At 6 am, we depart from San José to explore one of Costa Rica’s most unique destinations. After approximately 3 hours of driving, we arrive at the charming town of La Fortuna de San Carlos, where we briefly visit the city center before continuing on to Arenal 1968 Park. This park derives its name from a volcanic eruption in 1968, which left a lasting impact on the otherwise pristine forest. We hike along paths carved by solidified lava flows amidst a habitat teeming with diverse wildlife, all while soaking in stunning views of Lake Arenal.
Following our hike, we unwind at the Baldi hot springs nestled in the heart of the tropical forest. Here, you’ll have the afternoon to relax (lunch is on your own).
We return to San José later in the day.
