The itinerery
After picking you up at your hotel around 7:30, we’ll begin with a leisurely hike along the Peña Inculta trail, perfect for birdwatching and spotting howler and white-faced monkeys. This trail winds through a dry tropical forest nestled between Ometepe Island’s two volcanoes, brimming with vibrant wildlife and natural beauty. The hike spans approximately 1.5 km, taking about 1.5 to 2 hours, across flat, rocky soil formed from ancient volcanic eruptions of Concepcion volcano.
Next, we’ll head to the lakeshore in the community of Mérida for a relaxing break (bring your own food or purchase it at a local restaurant).
Afterwards, we’ll continue our adventure by kayaking in the warm waters of Lake Nicaragua, venturing into the Istiam River that runs between Ometepe’s volcanoes, a habitat teeming with hundreds of bird species and reptiles. You’ll enjoy unparalleled panoramas and immerse yourself in the soothing sounds of nature.
We’ll conclude the day by returning you to your hotel around 5 pm
