Contadora island

Full-Day Tour to Enjoy and Relax on the Beach of the Exclusive Contadora Island

Counting money is never a good idea, especially if you are traveling. Luckily, Isla Contadora (Island of the Accounting Office) was once the place for counting the pearls that had to be sent to Spain, but today it is one of the most beautiful islands just outside of Panama City, perfect for relaxation. Due to several restrictions on tax evasion, the island, which used to be a refuge for multimillionaires, has become a fantastic destination for us to visit.

The itinerary

6:45 AM: Check-in opens at Isla Flamenco, Amador, where the fast ferry will depart to Isla Contadora, located in the Gulf of Panama about 50 km from the mainland. Boarding and departure are at 7:30 AM. During the trip, you may see large ships heading to the Canal, dolphins swimming gently in the moderate waves, and whales migrating from July to October. Las Perlas Archipelago is a group of over 180 islands of different sizes, with about 40 islands inhabited and the rest completely uninhabited. Isla del Rey is the second-largest island in Panama, similar in size to all the other islands of the Las Perlas Archipelago combined. The best known for tourism and a destination for Panama’s wealthy families is Isla Contadora, named for the counting of pearls collected during the Spanish colonization in the 16th century.

Arrival at Isla Contadora is after about 75 minutes of ferry travel. Disembark at Playa Larga beach via a launch boat, as there is no dock available. Staff will receive visitors and transport them by golf cart to the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel beach in Playa Cacique, staff will arrange sunbeds and umbrellas (no beach towels provided) for you to enjoy the calm turquoise waters and the white beach fringed with coconut palms, creating a Caribbean Sea atmosphere off the Pacific coast. A set menu lunch is included at the hotel restaurant. Spend the day at leisure on the beach until the transfer at 2:30 PM to Playa Larga for boarding at 3:00 PM on the ferry departing at 3:30 PM. Arrival time at Amador dock is around 5:00 PM.
