The itinerary
Our tour commences in one of the city’s oldest streets, alongside the perimeter walls of La Polvora, a fortress built by the Spaniards in 1748. Our knowledgeable guide will recount the tumultuous history encapsulated within this structure.
Next, we explore one of Granada’s historically significant areas: the Church of Xalteva and its ancient surrounding walls.
Nicaragua has quietly risen as a leading producer of world-class cigars. On weekdays, we visit a local factory for an inside look at the artisanal craftsmanship behind these renowned cigars.
We ascend the bell tower of La Merced Church for a stunning view over the town’s red roofs.
Continuing, we immerse ourselves in local life at the bustling market, where stalls offer everything from food and household items to crafts and vibrant seasonal fruits.
Finally, we reach the heart of Granada dominated by the cathedral and central park, a historic gathering place for local families. Granada’s UNESCO-recognized historic center showcases immaculately preserved colonial architecture, offering a glimpse into its rich heritage.
